The Franklin High School football team lost to Damascus 14-12 in the Maryland 3A state champ stanley cup ionship game Thursday night.The Hornets jumped out to a 14-0 lead with touchdowns each of the first two quarters.The Indians responded before the end of the first half as Joshua Turner ran the ball in from two yards out. After a missed extra point, Franklin trailed 14-6 at halftime.The Indians got on the board again in the third quarter as Justin Spence ran for a 25-yard touchdown. However, the two-point conversion failed.Damascus was playing without their starting quarterback Wade Rippeon. John Allan Furgeson played quarterback for the Hornets.Franklin ends their season with the record of 11-2. HARFORD COUNTY, Md. 鈥?A man was killed stanley cups in a three-ca stanley cup r crash Thursday afternoon in Harford County.The crash happened around 2:40 p.m., in the area of Emmorton Road Maryland Route 24 at Philadelphia Road Maryland Route 7 in Abingdon.Police said a tractor-trailer was traveling north on Emmorton Road, and at the same time, a 2013 Chrysler 300 and a 2017 Jeep Compass were traveling south on the same road.Investigators said Thomas Thompkins, 66 from York, PA, failed to stop at a steady red turn signal and continued through the intersection of Emmorton Road and to travel west onto Philadelphia Road. The front of the tractor-trailer struck the left side of the Chrysler in the intersection. The driv stanley thermoskannen er of the Jeep swerved to avoid the pending crash, however, the rear right quarter panel of Chrysler struck the front right fender of the Jeep.
